X-ray tube is the core part of X-ray, is a vacuum tube, its internal contains anode, cathode, glass or ceramic shell, etc. It is divided into rotating tube and fixed tube. The structure includes high vacuum glass tube (providing vacuum environment), bearing-tungsten disk assembly (rotating), large and small filament (providing electrons). Because the X-ray tube is subjected to high voltage during operation, the X-ray tube is usually immersed in insulating oil or SF6 gas.
The X-ray tube assembly is a component that combines the X-ray tube with some peripheral parts. The peripheral parts usually have a lead barrel for shielding rays. If it is a rotating anode, it also has a stator for rotating anode, a high-voltage cable interface, insulating oil, an expander to prevent excessive pressure caused by temperature changes and oil volume changes, and a sealed metal casing. The housing of the X-ray tube assembly is zero potential.
The X-ray source, which is equipped with a high-voltage power supply and related controller for the X-ray tube assembly, is the X-ray source assembly. External only need to control the interface and power supply, can be used to generate X-ray. Of course, there are also some X-ray sources that combine X-ray tubes, high-voltage circuits, insulation and shielding, control circuits, etc., called MONOBLOCK. The volume is small, the use and transportation are relatively convenient, but the power is also small. Common in the security field. Medical and industrial commonly used high-power X-ray devices are generally separated, that is, there are two parts of the X-ray tube assembly and the power controller.
